Foods You Really Need to Avoid With Arthritis

Arthritis the joint disease comes in many forms and is often misunderstood or stereotyped. There are alternatives that you can add to your diet and actually enjoy them as much. Sea and Himalayan salts are the good options to use as substitutes. Also, beware of processed foods as they contain too much salt used for preservation and longer shelf life.


9. Artificial Food Additives

Most frozen and canned foods are preserved in order to increase their shelf life. The common food additive used for preservation is the monosodium glutamate. It’s mostly found in frozen and packaged foods such as Chinese foods, potato chips, soups, frozen snacks, etc. This artificial food additive is not good for those suffering from arthritis, as it can stimulate pain and inflammation.

Since it easily triggers inflammation, it is not recommended and it’s very dangerous to be eaten by people with inflammatory illnesses. Avoiding packaged foods would be ideal, adjust to basic home-cooked meals prepared with fresh ingredients.
